Interventions
What is a Substance Use intervention?
A drug or alcohol intervention is a process in which a person’s friends, family, and loved ones confront them about their substance use and encourage them to seek treatment. Interventions can be a powerful way to help someone who is struggling with addiction recognize the impact their substance use is having on their life and the lives of those around them.
What Happens During an Intervention?
During an intervention, the person’s loved ones share their concerns and the specific ways in which the person’s substance use has affected them. The goal of an intervention is to provide the person with a clear and specific treatment plan and offer support and encouragement as they take steps to address their substance use.
The Interventionist will take responsibility for:
- Setting up the intervention – who needs to be there, when and where, and what everyone’s role will be
- Advising the family on treatment center options that would be best suited for the needs of the individual.
- Reviewing the family’s insurance policy to see which treatment centers will accept their insurance
- Making the logistical arrangements with the treatment center, chosen by the family
- Family education and counseling before, during and after the intervention
As an interventionist, I know how much the family is dealing with. I am here to lift the burden off the family and make the process more comfortable for both you and your loved one.

As a professional drug and alcohol interventionist I help facilitate interventions for individuals struggling with substance abuse and addiction. I am trained to help plan and facilitate interventions in a way that is respectful, non-judgmental, and effective. After the intervention, I will also help the individual access treatment resources, such as rehab programs or support groups.

Interventions should be conducted with the guidance of a trained professional, as they can be emotionally charged and potentially risky situations. It’s important to be prepared for a range of possible responses from the person, including denial, anger, or resistance, and to stay calm and firm in your commitment to helping them get the treatment they need.
The Interventionist will take responsibility for:
- Setting up the intervention – who needs to be there, when and where, and what everyone’s role will be

Andrew Created A Safe Space …
From the outside, our friends and families didn’t know what we were going through. they all thought our life situation was fine. But we were at the breaking point. Andrew created a safe space for us to work through our own personal childhood trauma which allowed us to focus on the things we needed to focus on. If it wasn’t for Andrews’ professionalism and compassion, we wouldn’t be celebrating our 15th year of marriage this coming fall. The tools Andrew taught, allowed us to continue our journey together.
Most importantly, our whole family is back together …
